Privacy policy

Information about data used by the Fishing Mirror app and website, and where that data is stored.

Last updated: 30 August 2026.
This version describes the app prepared for Google Play closed testing: no user accounts, advertising, external analytics or synchronisation with a Fishing Mirror server.

1. Controller and contact

This Privacy Policy applies to the Fishing Mirror mobile application (“App”) and the official Fishing Mirror website (“Website”).

The responsible entity is PCS Michał Jeruzalski, Tuczna 147A, 21-523 Tuczna, Poland. NIP (tax ID): 5372507181, REGON (business ID): 384779684. Privacy contact: contact@pcsstudio.pl.

2. Local storage principle

The current version of Fishing Mirror is designed primarily as an on-device application. It does not require an account or sign-in.

Fishing session, catch, settings and statistics data are stored locally in the App’s storage. Fishing Mirror does not transmit this data to a developer-operated server for storage, analytics or user profiling.

The device operating system or backup services configured by the user may operate independently of Fishing Mirror under the user’s device settings and the providers’ own policies.

3. Data saved and used in the App

Depending on how the App is used, users may voluntarily enter or create:

  • a name or nickname used in the App;
  • fishing session dates, times and duration;
  • venue and swim names entered by the user;
  • casts, bites, no-bite events, lost fish and catches;
  • species, weight, length, notes and other catch details;
  • bait, groundbait, rigs, equipment and fishing setup details;
  • notes and other user-entered content;
  • statistics, records, rankings, trophies, achievements and challenges calculated locally from saved data;
  • App settings and preferences.

This information is used to provide the features selected by the user, including live session tracking, history, statistics, records and reports.

4. Photos, gallery and camera

Fishing Mirror allows users to attach photos to catches. A user may select a photo from the gallery or take a new photo with the camera when they choose this feature and grant the required system permission.

The App uses the photo selected or taken by the user and may save a copy in the App’s local storage. Fishing Mirror does not upload these photos to a developer server or publish them automatically.

5. Location

The current version of Fishing Mirror does not use device GPS location and does not track the user’s location. Venue and swim names are entered manually.

If location features are added in the future, this policy will be updated before they become available and the App will request any required permissions.

6. Notifications and reminders

The App may use local notifications and Android alarm scheduling, for example to remind the user how long a rig has been in the water. The user may be asked for the relevant system permission.

Information needed for these reminders is used locally on the device and is not used for advertising or profiling.

7. Export, import and backups

Fishing Mirror may create ZIP backups and PDF/PNG reports or images. Export and sharing occur only after a user action.

When sharing is selected, the App may pass the prepared file to the device’s system share sheet. The user selects the application, service or recipient. Once the file is sent outside Fishing Mirror, further processing depends on that recipient or service.

8. Analytics, advertising and profiling

The current version of Fishing Mirror contains no advertising, external analytics system or external crash-reporting service. We do not create advertising profiles and do not sell user data.

9. Sharing data with third parties

The Fishing Mirror developer does not automatically receive session, catch, photo or statistics data and does not share such data with other companies or organisations.

Users may share exported files using the system share function. The app distribution platform, operating system and third-party apps selected by the user may independently process data under their own policies.

10. Contact with the developer

If a user contacts us by email, we may receive the sender’s email address, name, message content and any voluntarily supplied attachments. This information is used to respond, handle a report, improve the product or meet legal obligations.

Where the GDPR applies, correspondence may be processed on the basis of legitimate interests in handling enquiries and product support, and where appropriate to comply with legal obligations.

11. Retention and deletion

Locally stored App data remains on the device until it is deleted in the App, the App data is cleared or Fishing Mirror is uninstalled, subject to separate backups created by the user or device system.

The developer cannot remotely delete a user’s local Fishing Mirror history because the developer does not hold a server copy. Exported files remain wherever the user has saved or sent them.

Correspondence sent directly to the developer is retained for as long as needed to handle the matter and, where applicable, longer when required by law or to protect against legal claims.

12. Security

Fishing Mirror uses storage mechanisms provided by the operating system. Local data security also depends on the security of the user’s device, so we recommend a screen lock and an up-to-date operating system.

Users are responsible for protecting ZIP backups, reports and other files they export outside the App.

13. Younger users

Fishing Mirror is a tool for logging and analysing fishing activity. The current version does not request a date of birth and includes no accounts, social features or advertising.

Data entered into the App remains local and is not automatically received by the developer. If future features require different data handling, the rules for younger users will be reassessed and described accordingly.

14. Website privacy

The current Website does not use external analytics, advertising pixels or non-essential tracking cookies.

The Website contact form does not submit message content to a Fishing Mirror server. It prepares a message in the user’s email application. After publication, the hosting provider may process standard technical logs such as IP address, request date/time, browser information and requested resource for infrastructure operation and security.

15. Changes to this policy

Fishing Mirror will continue to evolve. If accounts, cloud synchronisation, location, external analytics, advertising, online services or other features that change data processing are introduced, this policy will be updated before or together with those changes.

The current version of this Privacy Policy will be published on the official Fishing Mirror website.
